Citadella Event Center
The Citadella is located at the most beautiful point of Budapest, on the top of Gellérthegy. The building was constructed in 1854 by the Habsburg royal family after repressing the 1848-49 Hungarian revolution and freedom fight. In 1987 UNESCO has declared Gellérthegy – together with Várhegy and the panorama of the two banks of the Danube – to be World Cultural Heritage Sites.
Citadella`s main attraction is the view from its walls: the city sprawling in front of the hill foot looks marvelous. Due to its excellent features, the event center is the ideal place to hold all sorts of events.

The internationally unique calcareous tufa caves of Castle Hill were created as an effect of the hot water springs almost half a million years ago. In the 1930s, as part of the war-time defense program, the complex of cellars was converted into a shelter large enough to accommodate as many as ten thousand people at a time. Café 57 opened on May 2001 in the Rózsadomb or Rose Hill district of Budapest and was the first minimalist bar in the city. Jenő Hubay, the world famous violinist, composer and educator built his house on the banks of the river Danube in 1897-98. On the first floor of the four storey building, in the legendary white Music Hall gatherings of music, literature and other arts were regularly held, which were considered highlights of the Hungarian cultural life for four decades. The renowned music hall suffered a quiet spell following the World War II and was only reopened to the public in 2008, having been bought and renovated by the owners of Hotel Victoria. Today it is a part of the hotel and, together with some other rooms of the Hubay palace; it can be entered through the hotel lobby.
